Ministry of Religious Affairs called the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting for sighting Eid moon on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

The meeting of the committee headed by its chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad would be held in Islamabad.

The central committee along with provincial committees was set up with a legislative cover by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto regime of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in 1974.

Last December, the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) removed Mufti Munib on some differences and appointed Badshahi Mosque’s Khatib Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad as the new chairman of the committee.
