Tourists from all over Pakistan flocked to the tourist resort of Shangrila Lake in Skardu to beat the heat and to spend recreational holidays with family and friends, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Skardu is often called the tourist capital of northern territory Gilgit Baltistan.

The tourists are spending their time exploring the picturesque Lake.

The local authorities advised tourists to follow the guidelines so they could better spend their time at the high-altitude Lake.

Pertinent to note that Shangrila Lake, also known as Lower Kachura Lake, is located near the city of Skardu in Gilgit−Baltistan.

Gilgit Baltistan Tourist Police urged tourists to contact them at 1422, if they need any help or assistance.

Shangri-La, a Tibetan-language word meaning "heaven on Earth".
