National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Prosecutor Asim Mumtaz has tendered his resignation citing personnel reasons.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Asim sent his resignation to the NAB Chairman on Monday.

Pertinent to note that Asim was appearing before the NAB courts as NAB prosecutor in Sharif family cases.

He was appearing in courts in the money laundering cases of PML-N President and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.

Asim was also the same NAB prosecutor who represented anti-graft watchdog in courts in the Paragon reference case against the Khawaja brothers—Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique.
