Bilawal pays homage to Baba Guru Nanak

Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended greetings to the Sikh community in Pakistan and the world over on the 553rd birthday of Baba Guru Nanak, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

In a message on Tuesday, the PPP Chairman welcomed Sikh pilgrims from all over the world to Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of the founder of Sikhism. 

He also paid homage to Guru Nanak, the first of the ten Gurus of Sikhism, on behalf of the Foreign Minister of Pakistan.

Foreign Minister has urged pilgrims gathered at Nankana Sahib to promote Guru Nanak's message of peace and tolerance across the world. 

Bilawal Bhutto said that Pakistan and the Pakistani people are proud to be the custodians of the holy places of the Sikh community. 

“The government of Pakistan and the people will provide all possible facilities to the Sikh community in connection with their pilgrimage, he added. 

He further stated that the Constitution of Pakistan provides equal status and opportunities to all its citizens without discrimination. 

“In Pakistan, everyone is allowed to perform their religious and spiritual rituals without fear,” Bhutto hinted. 

He said that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev are based on principles of peace and love among humanity.

PPP chairman said that his party was the true torch-bearer of the ideology of the founding fathers of Pakistan and would continue its struggle for the provision of equal rights to non-Muslim Pakistanis. 

It may be recalled that thousands of people are congregating at Nankana Sahib in Pakistan from across the world to pay homage to Guru Nanak who professed love, peace, and harmony among his followers and disciples.
