Balochistan police with the help of its Levies Force Friday kidnapped three people of the Leghari tribe from the Bowata area, violating the provincial border of Punjab.

According to 24News HD TV Channel, Balochistan Levies Force and personnel of Rakhni Police Station, Barkhan district held an ‘illegal string operation’ in the Punjab border area of Dera Ghazi Khan District to capture the tribesmen.

The Balochistan law enforcement forces held the string operation without getting prior permission from the Home Secretary Punjab or the Punjab Border Military Police.

Reacting to the kidnapping of three tribesmen, Leghari tribe people staged a protest demonstration and blocked the Quetta Road, an inter-provincial highway.

The protesters demanded the authorities of both provinces to intervene in the matter to release their kidnapped people.

Due to the sit-in of the protesters on the Quetta Road in Bawata, traffic has been suspended on the highway and long queues of thousands of vehicles have formed on the Punjab-Balochistan border.

As per the reports, heavy firing sounds were also heard in the area that created panic among the residents of Dera Ghazi Khan district of Punjab and Barkhan district of Balochistan. The situation is tense in the area.
