A robber in the garb of a so-called ‘friend’ robbed a water shop in Karachi’s Model Colony of Rs50,000, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to the TV channel, the unidentified ‘friend’ approached the shop in Model Colony in the absence of the owner and told a young employee there that he was a dear friend of his employer. Trusting him was the biggest mistake by the inexperienced young employee.

CCTV footage showed that the accused later sent the employee to get change for Rs500 from a nearby shop. As soon as the employee left, the ‘friend picked up the money box from the shop containing Rs50,000 and ran away from there like a bullet.

As per the CCTV footage, the face of the accused is clear and the shop owner has approached the police along with the CCTV footage and other evidence and lodged an FIR against the unknown ‘dear friend’.
