36 more die due to floods as toll reaches 1391

The devastating monsoon rains and floods claimed 36 more lives during the last 24 hours as the death toll due to the disaster reached 1391, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Wednesday.

According to the latest stats issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), floods claimed the lives of 35 people in Sindh and one in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including 15 men, 15 children and six women.

NDMA in its latest report said that around 1391 people have died all over the country with Sindh bearing the biggest loss of 577 lives, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 293, Balochistan 263 and Punjab 191. The death toll in Kashmir was 44 and in Gilgit Baltistan 22.

According to the report, a total of 616 men, 279 women and 496 children lost their lives till date. The total number of injured victims has reached 12722 around the country. 8321 injuries were recorded in Sindh, 3858 in Punjab, 351 in KP and 166 in Balochistan.

The recent rains and floods have destroyed 6688.7 kilometres of roads across the country and nearly 250 bridges were damaged.

As many as 565878 houses were completely destroyed and 1.173million houses were partially damaged.

All over Pakistan, 81 districts in total are still under the effect of the flood and rainfalls.
