The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Thursday allowed the United States to send two aircraft to transport the Americans stranded in Pakistan back home.

One of these planes will land in Islamabad on April 10 (Friday morning) and the other on April 12, reported 24NewsHD while quoting sources.

The sources said that necessary directives had been issued to the police to allow the US nationals to reach the federal capital.

The US has operated special flights in the recent days to evacuate its diplomats and citizens from Pakistan because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In one such flight, 294 passengers had left Karachi Islamabad on April 3 in a special chartered plane.

As many as 69 American diplomatic officials left Pakistan to Afghanistan in the wake of ever-spreading coronavirus cases on March 26 a few days after a batch of 75 US diplomats left for Georgia through a chartered flight.
