PDMA predicts stormy rains during Eid holidays

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab predicted stormy rains during Eid days in the province, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the channel, the PDMA Punjab has issued an alert about the chances of intermittent heavy rains and hailstorms in different areas between April 10 and April 15.
As per the alert of the PDMA, there are chances of rain in Murree, Guliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal from April 10 to 12 while Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, DG Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions will receive rains on April 12. The districts of Bahawalpur division will also be under heavy rains during the predicted days.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said that there are chances of heavy rains and hailstorms in different areas of Punjab on Eid-ul-Fitr so citizens must keep the weather conditions in mind while preparing for Eid al-Fitr.
The PDMA chief said citizens must be aware of the weather updates for tourism during the Eid holidays and carry the necessary equipment before travelling to the hilly areas.
Irfan Kathia districts' commissioners, deputy commissioners and Irrigation Department officials have been informed about the weather situation in Punjab.
He advised the rescue organizations and district administration to remain alert even during the Eid holidays.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia also advised the citizens and tourists that they should contact the authority's helpline 1129 in case of any emergency.
