Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi flayed inaction against people who showed disrespect to a mosque, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

They said those responsible for this dancing in the mosque should be immediately arrested and prosecuted.

Chaudhry brothers termed the dancing video of Saba Qamar and Bilawal Saeed inside Lahore’s Masjid Wazir Khan a “tragedy”. “The dancing taking place in mosques is a blatant violation of Shariah and the persons involved in it should be given real and ideal punishment so that no one would dare to commit such an ugly act in future,” Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said.

“Sadly, those who violated the sanctity of Wazir Khan Mosque are still free,” Chaudhrys said in a statement in Lahore.

In the latest development regarding the video shoot in Masjid Wazir Khan, another citizen on Sunday filed an application for registration of a case against actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed. Rana Akif, a resident of Lahore, has submitted the application at Akbari Gate Police Station.

The application stated that during the shooting of the film, Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed danced in the mosque and violated the sanctity of the worship place and a case should be registered against the actor and actress for insulting religious sentiments.

It is pertinent to note that a few days ago, Saba Qamar shared a video on social media which was severely criticized by citizens and religious circles.

The TV channel reported that the police will consider the case registration request and will process it in accordance with the law.

Jamaat-e-Islami Youth Wing activists also staged a protest demonstration outside Dehli Gate under the leadership of Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Mian Zikrullah Mujahid. President JI Youth Lahore Sohaib Sharif, Secretary JI Youth Qadeer Shakeel and other leaders also participated in the protest.
