Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid said on Tuesday that despite the fact that the coalition government had just two votes more than that of the opposition in the National Assembly, it had gone berserk and become vindictive towards the PTI, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

In a tweet, Sheikh Rashid said that the common agenda of all these parties was to get former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan ‘disqualified’ and get another former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif ‘eligible’ to hold any public office. “This ‘unbridled’ government has become lost its senses. Political instability, economic devastation and the return of terrorism to the country will destroy their politics forever,” he commented. 

He announced that he would address a public gathering at his Rawalpindi residence Lal Haveli on August 13.

In yet another tweet, he said that China was Pakistan’s well-wisher and those calling the shots in the country must understand the signals from that all-weather friend. 

Warning against planning to arrest Imran Khan and creating divisions in the PTI, the former minister said this would be the beginning of ‘politics of bloodshed’ in the country.

In another tweet, Rashid said that national security was more important than remaining relevant in the country’s politics or keep clinging to the power.

He expressed the fear that instability in Afghanistan would also have its adverse impact on the situation in Pakistan. “It is sad that suicide bombings and incidents of extortion have started raising their heads again,” he said, and made it clear to the government that it could not make media channels air the news of its choice. “Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf had issued licences for TV channels while, on the other hand, this government is doing exactly opposite of that and shutting them down,” he regretted.

Rashid said that now PML-N’s narrative was dead.
