A mysterious disease has created havoc in Mianwali as five members of the same family succumbed to it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The victims included a young man, his sister and two cousins of the ill-fated family. A five-year-old child of the same family breathed his last on Tuesday night.

The five deaths within days from the same family sent shock waves throughout the Tagol locality of Mianwali District.

The Punjab Health Department is investigating the mysterious disease and District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Mian Kashif Ali said the remaining members of the family were not cooperating with them and were refusing to undergo tests and admission to hospital.

A team from DG Office with the local staff has been sent to the locality.
