Sentence to lawyer: Rawalpindi s lawyers hold ceremony in favour of Justice Shehzad

The professional senior lawyers of Rawalpindi Division on Friday organized an appreciation ceremony in favour of the Lahore High Court (LHC) senior-most judge Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan who handed a sentence of three months imprisonment to a lawyer for contempt of court.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Justice Shahzad along with some other judges including Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Chaudhary Abdul Aziz also participated in the ceremony and thanked senior lawyers for backing him.

Lawyers of Rawalpindi Division have announced to stand by the side of Justice Shahzad by holding a ceremony in honour of the senior most judge of the High Court.

Addressing the ceremony, Justice Shahzad said that he is a part of the bar and the prayers of the lawyers' community will always be needed by him.

Justice Shahzad said that he was grateful to the Rawalpindi lawyers who organized the ceremony at very short notice.

Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan, Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, Justice Chaudhary Abdul Aziz, and other judges were warmly welcomed by the lawyers and showered with petals in the ceremony.

District Bar Rawalpindi will also hold a ceremony In honour of Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan on Saturday, December 10.

Professional senior lawyers said in the ceremony that Justice Shahzad is an asset to the judiciary and lawyers. They said they all have respect for the judiciary as only those nations develop that respect the decisions of courts and judges.

The professional lawyers condemned lawyer Rana Mohammad Asif for his inappropriate behaviour and said Justice Shahzad is not only a great judge but also a great human being who always respected the lawyers.

They said no sane person can support the inappropriate behaviour of the lawyer toward the learned judge. They claimed that some lawyers are trying to shin their politics regarding this decision as the bar elections are approaching.

They said lawyers are respected because of the courts and if the lawyers do not respect the courts, they will not be respected in society or in the country.

High Court Bar Rawalpindi also paid tribute to Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan and said that Justice Shahzad is an asset to the judiciary and lawyers.
