PPP Central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that days of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government are numbered owing to its anti-people policies and unprecedented price hike in the country.

Addressing a labour convention at Jallo near Burhan arranged by People’s Labour Bureau Attock chapter, Kaira said that Pakistan was faced with constitutional and administrative crises due to incompetent rulers who have failed at all fronts. PTI government has failed to deliver as prices of wheat flour, sugar and other essential items have increased manifold and gone beyond the reach of the common man.

SUGAR CRISIS

Artificial crisis of sugar and flour has been created by the members of the ruling party. Kaira wondered why rates of sugar are on the rise as mills could not start crushing season by November end each year. On the other hand, sugarcane growers are not being paid their dues by the millers. He criticized the government for increasing the gas and electricity tariffs. During last year, one million people were rendered unemployed by the government that was supposed to bring “change”. It is feared that another 12 million people will lose jobs this year. He said that inflation and economic crisis will lead the country to catastrophic consequences. Due to high cost of food items in this agricultural country, poor people are suffering. PTI leadership can no longer deceive its allies who already seemed annoyed because of the unfulfilled promises of the incumbent govt.

ANTI-GOVT DRIVE

He said that PPP will soon launch a countrywide anti-inflation drive in which public meetings would also be arranged to mobilize masses against the present government.

Divisional President PPP and former state minister Rawalpindi Sardar Salim Haider Khan, District President PPP Attock Sardar Asher Hayat Khan, President PLB Punjab Syed Nazar Hussain Shah, President People's Unity Ramzan Leghari, President PYO Punjab Zohaib Butt and Sardar Irfan Akhori also spoke on the occasion.
