PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif appeared before NAB on Tuesday in the assets beyond means and money laundering cases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Quoting its sources, 24NewsHD TV channel reported that Shehbaz Sharif submitted a written reply regarding assets made abroad. The Sources said the PML-N president replied that he gave gifts to his wife.

On this occasion when the NAB officials tried to video record the statement, Shehbaz Sharif demanded the removal of the camera.

“I have not committed corruption of a single penny,” Shehbaz Sharif said while responding to NAB team’s questions.

The sources said that NAB presented some documents in front of Shehbaz Sharif. The PML-N chief gave answers to 13 questions put up by the NAB investigation team, the sources added.

“Shehbaz Sharif was asked to reveal the loan figure which he obtained from Barclays Bank,” the sources said. Shehbaz Sharif gave details of the loan he obtained from his son-in-law Haroon Yousaf and Asma Daar.

NAB also asked the PML-N President about the financial transactions and presented a report of the Financial Monitoring Unit before Shehbaz Sharif, questioning him about the four suspicious transactions.
The NAB teams even asked Shehbaz Sharif what gifts he gave to Nusrat Shehbaz and what is his business income and how much.

Nab sources claimed that Shehbaz Sharif was asked what Nisar Ahmed and Ali Ahmed Khan used to do and what was the relationship between Nisar Ahmed and Ali Ahmed Khan.

There were tough questions and answers between the PML-N leader and the NAB team, the sources claimed, adding Shehbaz Sharif gave only a few answers out of many NAB questions.

PML-N workers accompanied Shehbaz Sharif to the NAB headquarters in Lahore. Before appearing, Shehbaz Sharif held consultations with his legal team over the NAB summons. The legal team comprises of Amjad Pervez Advocate and Azam Nazir Tarar.

Earlier NAB had summoned Shehbaz Sharif on June 9 in both the cases and he was also granted a pre-arrest bail by the court which restrained NAB from arresting him till June 17.

It is pertinent to mention that NAB had raided different places earlier this week to arrest Shehbaz Sharif in money laundering and income-beyond-means case but NAB had returned empty-handed and failed to arrest the PML-N leader.
