A majority of reps of traders' bodies, business associations, and market unions have raised concerns about the government's plan to close business centres at 8:30 pm, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The office-bearers of associations including Anjuman-e-Tajiran Khalid Pervez Group and Anjuman-e-Tajiran Quaid-e-Azam Group showed reservations about the move, saying that citizens do not come to shop in the scorching heat.

By evening, such activities start, they stressed, adding that if such a decision is made, the traders and shopkeepers will strongly oppose it.

They raised the demand for taking onboard the reps of business associations and market unions so that such a step could be implemented with letter and spirits

In Multan and Karachi, traders expressed resentment. In Lahore, a few office-bearers of the traders' bodies and chambers seconded the government.

There is no business first, they rued adding that they would find it difficult to make both ends meet if the government continues with the decision. Such a step would add to their troubles, the traders complained.

They said the government should not impose its own decisions on them

The shopkeeper stressed that this is an unacceptable decision. According to the government plan to save energy, markets and bazaars will be closed at 8:30 pm.
