Parliament’s joint session to start at 4pm today

The joint session of the Parliament will be convened at 4pm on Thursday (today) to take up crucial bills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the agenda, the Election Act 2017 (Amendment) Bill will be presented in the joint session of the Parliament.

The bill has been passed by the National Assembly and the Senate, but, President Arif Alvi, instead of signing the bill, had sent it back.

The approval of the bill will be sought from the joint session of the Parliament.

Another bill to amend the National Accountability Bureau Ordinance 1999 will also be presented in the joint session of the Parliament.

It is to be noted here that the National Assembly and the Senate have approved the NAB Amendment Bill, but, it too was sent back by the president.

The bill for the establishment of National Information Technology Board will be presented in the joint session of the Parliament.

Also, Pakistan University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies Bill 2022 will be presented in the meeting.

The Protection of Parents Bill will also be presented in the joint session of the Parliament for approval. 

The Protection of Parents Bill was passed by the National Assembly, but it could not be passed by the Senate within 90 days

A motion to discuss the economic situation of the country will also be tabled in the joint session of the Parliament.
