WhatsApp is once again dropping support for some older phone devices. From autumn they will no longer receive support and users will probably no longer be able to use the app.
WhatsApp will soon stop supporting iOS 10 and iOS 11-powered devices. The company has decided to implement this starting October 24th, 2022. WhatsApp has stated that it stops supporting some versions of Android and iOS every year to introduce new features to the app that may not be compatible with an older version of the messaging platform or the operating system on the device.

This is not the first time we hear about WhatsApp dropping support for iOS 10, as the same was making headlines last year but turned out to be untrue. The firm, however, has now confirmed to drop support for not only iOS 10 but iOS 11 too. Here is a list of iPhones that will no longer support WhatsApp come October:

·         WhatsApp will no longer support iOS 10 and iOS 11 devices.

·         iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C are the devices that will not support WhatsApp.

·         This will come into effect starting October 24th.

The iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C will no longer be able to run WhatsApp starting October 24th 2022. The iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S will still be able to run WhatsApp without any issue as long as they’re running on iOS 12 or later. Users with iPhone 5S or above should immediately update their iPhone to iOS 12 or above to use WhatsApp.

According to WABetaInfo, the users running WhatsApp on iOS 10 and iOS 11 are warned with the following pop up message:

The move comes right before the WWDC 2022, where Apple will introduce the iOS 16. The users currently operating iOS 10 and 11 (iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C) will have to upgrade to a new device to continue using WhatsApp or even switch platforms from iOS to Android. Thankfully, transferring WhatsApp chat history data from iPhone to Android mobile phone is easier these days.–91mobiles.com
