After month-long speculations and rumours, the drop scene of the SSP Mufakhar Adeel episode was witnessed on Sunday night when the senior officer, who is accused of killing of his best friend Shehbaz Ahmed Tatla, surrendered before the police, reported 24 News.

Two high-profile officers – Mufakhar and former assistant attorney general Tatla –were reportedly kidnapped by unidentified suspects under suspicious circumstances a month ago. Both Mufakhar and Tatla belonged to Narowal.

Mufakhar is a Battalion Commander-I of Punjab Constabulary, Lahore, who joined the Police Service of Pakistan in 2008.

Punjab IGP Shoaib Dastagir had ordered an inquiry and immediate recovery of them.

The childhood friends went missing the same day, which alarmed the Punjab Police, making it investigate the matter with different angles. Later, it was confirmed that Tatla was murdered but his body has not been found yet.
