Depreciation of Pakistani rupee against the US dollar has resulted in another jump in the gold prices despite the fact that gold prices in the international market remain the same. The per tola price of gold increased by Rs700 on Monday.

According to the Sindh Jewellers Association, Rs700 increase in the gold prices on Monday took the per tola price to Rs95,200, while the price of 10 gram gold increased by Rs600 to touch Rs81,618. The price of 22 carat gold now stands at Rs74,817 per 10 gram. In contrast to the increase in gold prices in Pakistan, the association said, gold prices have plummeted in the international market. However, the increase in the gold prices in Pakistan is the result of depreciation of Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
