ECC meeting today

Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh summoned a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Wednesday to take up matters pertaining to power division, and NAB’s investigation into IPPs agreement, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

In the meeting, Power Division will present notifications of fuel adjustment charges from November 2019 to June 2020. 

The ECC will consider NAB's investigation into the IPPs agreement. The ECC will review NEPRA's decision on increasing electricity prices, the TV channel reported quoting its sources. 

A summary of the recovery of electricity dues of Azad Kashmir will also be presented in the ECC meeting and expenditure of employees and pensioners of distribution companies will be reviewed.

A summary for Ramzan Relief Package 2021 will also be presented in tomorrow’s ECC meeting.  

Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh would preside over the ECC meeting after a gap of over two weeks after his political engagements for Senate elections that he lost to Yousaf Raza Gilani.

The meeting will take up the matter of import of cotton and yarn from the Torkham border. The ECC meeting will review the summary of tax exemption on import of raw materials for auto-disabled syringes. 

A summary of exemption of excise duty on 10 imported vehicles of FAO will be presented in the meeting, sources said.
