Law enforcers wipe out illegal poppy crops cultivation in Qambar's mountain range

Rangers and police wiped out illegal cultivation of poppy crops in the mountainous region of Kachu in Qamber in a joint operation on Saturday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the law enforcers eridicated several acres of poppy cultivation during the join operation in the Qamber's mountanous area.

SSP Muhammad Kaleem Malik told the media that the officers from various police stations across the district participated in the operation.

He said the operation covered areas such as Bajak Pahaar, Sita Ki Dat, and Rahoja Athiya. Despite the efforts of the police and rangers, the individuals involved in poppy cultivation managed to escape, he added.

The SSP said a case has been registered against the indivituals involved in poppy cultivation at the Ghaybi Dero police station.

SSP Kaleem said the primary objective of the grand operation against poppy cultivation is to eradicate narcotics from the district and rescue the public from the menace of drugs.
