The weather in Pakistan is set to take a dramatic turn as a series of western winds are forecasted to sweep across the country, starting from Balochistan today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

These winds are expected to bring significant rainfall to the upper regions of the country, lasting until March 11.

The Meteorological Department has further predicted another wave of these western winds entering the country on March 12. This is likely to result in rain and potential snowfall in the mountainous regions of Balochistan, continuing until March 13.

In Sindh, the period between March 10 and 12 is expected to witness rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in several areas including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, and Dadu.

Moreover, predictions have been made for rains and occasional hailstorms in certain parts of Punjab and Islamabad from March 11 to 14.

In light of these weather forecasts, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued directives for precautionary and administrative measures across Punjab.

She has instructed all relevant departments, including the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Rescue 1122, along with the district administration, to complete all safety arrangements prior to the expected rainfall.

Emphasizing the importance of public safety, the Chief Minister has directed for the timely relocation of people residing in low-lying areas.

She has also stressed the need for advance public warnings about the impending weather conditions, urging the use of media, social media, and mobile alert services for this purpose.

Additionally, she has called for effective measures to ensure the protection of livestock in rural areas.
