PM bans sugar export to keep its stocks, prices stable in country

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has banned the export of sugar to keep the sugar stocks and prices stable in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
“People’s needs have to be met first; the sugar price has to be stabilised,” said the prime minister and also ordered strict measures against the smuggling of sugar.
He also ordered stern action against the hoarders involved in creating artificial shortage of sugar, directing the agencies concerned to keep abreast of the effective implementation of their orders.
“In case of any negligence, the officers and staff concerned will be held responsible,” warned the prime minister.
