Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin Tuesday said that they had made some difficult promises with the International Monitory Fund (IMF).

He was talking in a program—Nasim Zehra@ 8—at 24News HD TV Channel and said the negotiations with the IMF were going well so there was no need for Plan B.

On different queries from the host in the program, the PM Adviser said when the talks were going well with the IMF then why would PM Imran talk to the MD of the Fund.

He confirmed that talks with IMF had not stopped and the negotiations were going on about the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and hopefully, a solution would come out soon.

Tarin said that the bill would come before the media soon and then everyone would know, whether there was a balance in it or not.

Adviser to PM accepted that the bill that was passed by the cabinet in March was his government’s fault because Law Minister Farogh Nasim had not seen it.

He said they had conveyed to the IMF that the said bill could not be passed, anyhow, talks were being held with the IMF legal team on this matter.

On a query, Tarin said that the Rules of Business stated that any revenue generated by the government would go to account number one and there were many things that would not go into account number one that would be in the interest of the national security.

In the program, the PM advisor appealed to the construction industry that it should reduce its profits.
