PML-N leader Capt Safdar on Friday expressed his doubts over the mental health of NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal after he obtained interim bail from a local court in a sedition case filed against him in Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“There is a flaw in the NAB chairman. He swings from [his] head to feet and rotate after sitting on chair. I have doubts about his mental health, Safdar – the son-in-law of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif – remarked.

He told media persons that an incompetent person was appointed as NAB chairman because of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz had been imprisoned.

The PML-N leader said Imran Khan was using NAB for political objectives and wanted to give extension to the chairman. The country had reached the position only because of extension, Safdar remarked.

He made it clear that he did not accept Imran as prime minister, who came into power through deceit, not the power of vote. “The one who had staged sit-in outside the Parliament is now running the country,” Safdar maintained.

The PML-N leader recalled that Bacha Khan and Wali Khan had stated that a people’s movement generated in Punjab would prove successful.

Warning that the rally will stretch from Lahore to Rawalpindi if the opposition isn’t allowed to stage the planned public meeting in Gujranwala, Safdar said the movement was meant for the supremacy of the Constitution and Parliament. Anyone standing in the way of opposition’s drive would be washed away in the ocean of people, he added.

“We are coming out [on the streets] to save the Constitution and the sacred Parliament.”

The rally would be held wherever the people assembled if the administration didn’t allow the gathering, he remarked.

Promising the government removal, Safdar said Nawaz would return after his surgery in case the movement required his presence. “Nations progress when the leader comes out to lead and our leader has come out.”

Earlier, the PML-N leader obtained interim bail till Oct 21 from a local court in a sedition case filed last week.
