Transgender activist Gul Panra shot dead in Peshawar

Transgender activist Gul Panra was killed and another sustained injuries when unidentified men opened fire on them in Palosi area of Peshawar on Wednesday.

According to the police, the wounded person was transferred to the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH). Police started the investigation.

After the incident, people demanded action be taken against the killers and the hashtag #JusticeforGulPanra shot to the top trend in Pakistan.

TransAction Alliance Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) President Farzana Ilyas demanded the arrest of the killers. "I condemn last night's incident and I demand justice," she said. Farzana took a swipe at the provincial government for its failure to protect transgender people.
