The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all arrangements to conduct nationwide Senate elections, scheduled for April 2, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to sources, polling is slated to take place in the National Assembly and all four provincial assemblies from 9 AM to 4 PM, with ballot papers printed in four distinct colors for various categories of seats.

White ballots will represent general seats, green for technocrats, pink for women, and yellow for minority candidates.

Logistical preparations, including the transportation of election materials to returning officers, have been finalized.

Returning officers have issued the final list of candidates contesting elections on the 48 vacant Senate seats, which comprise 29 general seats, eight women seats, nine technocrats/Ulema seats, and two non-Muslim seats.

A total of 147 candidates submitted nomination papers for these vacant seats, with 18 elected unopposed.

Notably, seven senators from Punjab's general seats and seven from Balochistan have won without opposition.

The remaining 30 seats will witness contests on Tuesday, with 59 candidates vying for them.

These include elections for one general and one technocrat seat from the federal capital, and seats from various categories in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
