Cop martyred, two bandits killed in Lahore CCD encounter
A Crime Control Department (CCD) constable embraced martyrdom, and two suspected robbers were killed in an exchange of fire in Lahore, reported 24News HD TV Channel.
According to details, a CCD team, after receiving credible information, CCD team raided a house to arrest hiding outlaws in the Kahna area of Lahore.
To see the raiding team, the accused opened fire indiscriminately from inside the house. Police engaged them effectively and killed two outlaws.
In the operation, a policeman was martyred, and three others sustained injuries, who have been admitted to the hospital.
The martyred constable was identified as Abdul Razzaq Dogar and the two dacoits were identified as Fahad Bilal and Usman.
Police further revealed that the wife of Fahad Bilal, Rabia was also a proclaimed offender. The husband and wife are involved in dozens of criminal activities in Rawalpindi, Lahore and Islamabad.
The main accused, Fahad Bilal, was wanted by the police in more than seven cases.
Three other policemen were also injured in shootouts, whereas accomplices of the dead outlaws escaped during the encounter.
According to police, a CCD team on information about the hiding of dacoits in a house conducted a raid in the area.
The dead robbers were wanted in multiple cases of heinous crimes, including robbery. Police have launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects.
Punjab IG Abdul Karim paid tribute to CCD Constable Abdul Razzaq Dogar and directed the best medical facilities to the injured personnel.
He said all resources should be used to arrest the absconding suspects, adding the family of martyred Razzaq will not be left alone.
