An army aviation helicopter that was on flood relief operations in Balochistan, went missing, the 24NewsHD TV 1channel reported Tuesday. The chopper was on its way back to Karachi from Balochistan when it lost contact with Air Traffic  Control.

“A Pakistan army aviation helicopter which was on flood relief operations in Lasbela, Balochistan, lost contact with ATC,”  ISPR DG tweeted. 

“Six individuals were on board including Commander 12 Corps who was supervising flood relief operations in Balochistan. A search operation is underway,” the tweet added.

Prayers for precious lives 

President Dr Arif Alvi showed concern and prayed for the safe return of the disappeared. He took to Twitter and paid tribute to the army officers for doing their job with dedication.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has felt strong concerns for the missing sons of the soil.  “The disappearance of army aviation helicopter from Balochistan is alarming, he tweeted, adding that the nation prays for their safety, security and return.”  

In a tweet, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf  Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan prayed for safety of the missing military team. 

"Disturbing news of army aviation helicopter missing and praying for all those on board," he tweeted.
