Telecom franchise using fake fingerprints for SIM activation busted

In a grand operation, FIA Cyber Crime Circle arrested two people involved in a fraudulent activity of illegally activating SIM cards by using fake silicon fingerprints in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, FIA Cyber Crime Circle, DIK raided a telecom franchise which was involved in an illegal act of activating SIM cards using fake silicon fingerprints. 

The Cyber Crime team confiscated more than 2,800 illegal silicon fingerprints and other biometric verification system (BVS) digital devices. 

During its raid, the Cyber Crime team arrested two people and registered a fraud case against them. 

Further investigations are underway.
