Multan Senior Superintendent of Police (Operation) Syed Zeeshan Haider has ordered his team to be fit and smart within two weeks.
The SSP, who is an ex-serviceman, issued directives for overweight policemen to reduce weight in accordance with height and go for exercise to be fit and smart.
According to a notification, there is no room for overweight and unfit. The cops should attend physical training parade on a daily basis and maintain their weight from 75kg to 80kg and chest from 36inch to 40inch, directed the top cop.
A report revealed last year that the Punjab police underwent medical tests and most of them were found having issues related to heart, liver and respiratory.
The findings prompted the senior police to issue directives for 3,000 cops to adopt fitness measures and the capital police established a gym at the Police Lines for the purpose. Reportedly, a number of policemen were sent to therapists.
