Warden suspended for slapping disable rickshaw driver in Lahore

A traffic warden has beaten a disable rickshaw driver in Lahore for violation of traffic rules, the video of warden’s misbehavior has gone viral on social media, sparking public outrage, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

The incident took place in the Manawan area of Lahore. 

According to eyewitnesses the warden repeatedly slapped the driver without listening to his explanation, who pleaded, "I am a disabled and earning livelihood for my children." The passerby intervened and rescued the rickshaw driver. 

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Athar Waheed has taken notice of the incident and ordered inquiry of the incident. The CTO has also suspended till the completion of the inquiry. DSP Headquarters has been directed to conduct a thorough probe into the matter. CTO Athar Waheed made it clear that wardens will not be allowed to humiliate the citizens.
