Two youths and several animals were killed as a powerful bolt of lightning struck them in Basti Mominabad in Bahawalnagar on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Heavy rain coupled with thundershowers lashed the suburban areas of Bahawalnagar. 

The deceased youths have been identified as Muhammad Shahid and Abdul Rauf. 

A rescue team rushed to the scene after the lightning strike was reported, but the youths passed away before the rescue team arrived.  

Three goats and other animals were also reported to have perished after being hit by the lightning.
