Windstorm, rain affect flight operation at Islamabad airport
Strong winds and heavy rain affected the flight operation in the federal capital Islamabad on Thursday.
At least six flights scheduled to land at the Islamabad airport were diverted to other cities due to the windstorm.
A PIA flight, which came from Karachi to Islamabad, was diverted to Multan airport after it stayed in the air for a long time and made some failed attempts to land.
At least 150 passengers were onboard this flight. This flight will fly back to the federal capital as soon as weather conditions in Islamabad improve.
A Fly Jinnah flight was also diverted from Islamabad to Multan. An Etihad Airways flight and three other PIA flights from also diverted from Islamabad to Multan.
