PIA flight brings much-needed supplies from China

The first PIA Boeing 777 carrying the equipment necessary to fight the coronavirus landed in Islamabad on Thursday.
The special flight arriving from China transported 14 tonnes of different items including 100 thermal scanners, 0.9 million masks, 60,000 safety glasses and over 3,300 protective kits.
According to an NDMA spokesperson, 0.25 million gloves, thermometers and other equipment are also among the imported goods.
Earlier, China has transported much-needed testing kits and essential equipment through special flights to Karachi and Islamabad. Meanwhile, these items were also provided to the authorities in Gilgit-Baltistan via land route through Khunjerab Pass.
