Postponed election in LA-27 Muzaffarabad to be held on Aug 4

Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Election Commissioner announced that the postponed election in LA-27 Muzaffarabad will be held on August 4, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Talking to media, Chief Election Commissioner Ghulam Mustafa said polling had to be postponed in LA-27 due to bad weather. He said that the polling process is going on peacefully across the country so far.

'Change can be brought not through violence but through votes,' the Chief Election Commissioner said. The Chief Election Commissioner said a better turnout is expected to come from the Mirpur division. We take immediate action on any complaint that comes, he added.

Ghulam Mustafa said we will work according to the law and we will not come under anyone's pressure. The path of change should be paved, he concluded.

Ghulam Mustafa said we will work according to the law and we will not come under anyone's pressure.Ghulamam Mustafa said polling is underway in all constituencies except LA-27.

Polling has also begun on time in 12 constituencies of refugees residing in Pakistan, he added. He said no untoward incident has been reported from any polling station so far.

Voting is a religious and national duty, and voters should come out to fulfil this great duty and vote for their preferred candidate, he appealed.

The Chief Election Commissioner said the only means of change is the power of the vote, not the path of violence. He said change cannot be brought about by anything other than voting.

'Today is an important day for the strengthening of democracy,' said the Chief Election Commissioner. The Chief Election Commissioner reviewed the voting process and expressed satisfaction.

Earlier, the Election Commission of AJK had announced postponing the polling process in constituency LA-27 Muzaffarabad-I due to a lack of voting preparation. 

According to the TV channel report, the goods related to the polling process, including ballot papers and other things, did not reach the polling stations due to landslides in the area.
