Noted cricketer Umar Akmal has been deprived of his mobile phones in the Model Town police precincts, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.

The incident took place yesterday in Model Town C Block Cricket Ground. The cost of missing cell phones is stated to be Rs760,000.

At the request of Umar Akmal's cousin Abbas Ali, the police have registered a case.

Umar Akmal heaped praise on the Model Town police for cooperation.
