Child survives after falling into open manhole in Lahore’s Manawan area

A minor child narrowly escaped serious injury after falling into an open manhole in Lahore’s Manawan area on Sunday, an incident captured on closed-circuit television footage obtained by City 42.

The incident occurred around 11 am near PMC Stop, where stagnant rainwater had accumulated in a residential street, concealing the uncovered manhole.

CCTV footage shows water standing in the alley as the child walks through it before suddenly slipping and falling into the manhole.

The residents rushed to the scene and, acting on their own initiative, managed to pull the child out of the manhole within minutes.

The footage shows people gathering quickly and assisting in the rescue.

Thanks to the timely response of area residents, the child remained safe and suffered no serious injuries, officials said.
