President Zardari approves Tamgha-e-Shujaat for PIMS nurse

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the conferment of the Tamgha-e-Shujaat on Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) staff nurse Razia Noreen in recognition of her outstanding bravery during a fire incident at the hospital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Razia Noreen risked her own life to rescue the only child who survived the incident and successfully brought the child to safety.

The award recognises her courage and dedication to duty during the emergency.

The president also approved several summaries, including the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) Amendment Bill 2026 and the Standard Time (Interpretation of References) Amendment Bill 2026.

The approved measures also include a revision to the Table of Organization and Equipment of the Armed Forces Institute of Urology (AFIU) in Rawalpindi.

Another measure concerns the environmentally responsible management of hazardous materials present on ships.
