Five people, including a police officer, have been killed in firing in the Wadh Arinji area of Khuzdar, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the police sources, the incident took place in a mountainous and difficult-to-reach area, creating problems for officers trying to reach the scene.
The difficult terrain has also caused delays in moving the bodies of the victims to hospital.
Police said an investigation into the firing is under way, while officers are collecting evidence from the scene to determine the circumstances of the incident.
