Azerbaijan’s economy minister discusses $2 billion investment with Dar

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov on Friday held a telephone meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss a proposed $2 billion investment mechanism for Pakistan, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said in a statement.

Andrabi said the two sides exchanged views on how to move forward with the planned Azerbaijani investment package. Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations and agreed on the need to deepen political and economic cooperation.

They discussed finalising the framework for Azerbaijani investment in sectors of mutual interest in Pakistan, the statement added. 

It was agreed that a comprehensive approach will be finalised for Azerbaijani investment in identified sectors of the Pakistani economy.
