Girl raped during roadside armed robbery in Lahore

A 20-year-old girl was raped during an armed robbery in Lahore's Gujjarpura area on Thursday.
According to police, the girl, who used to work as compounder in a homeopathic doctor’s clinic in Saggian village, was returning from work with the doctor, when the robbers stopped them on the way.
The girl was a neighbour of the doctor who, as an assistant and would accompany her, to and from the clinic.
After closing the clinic, when they were headed from home, four armed men emerged from the field and stopped them at gunpoint.
The robbers took away doctor’s wallet and mobile phone, and the victim's purse and earrings. After robbing them, two of the armed men took the victim to the field where they subjected her to rape, while the remaining two held the doctor at gunpoint.
They left the victim unconscious in the field and fled from the scene after stealing the keys of his motorcycle.
The police came on the crime scene soon after the incident and after taking the statements of the victims the police sent the girl to the hospital for the medical examination.
Learning of the incident, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab sought an immediate report from the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) in this regard.
Lahore CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed said that officials were currently investigating the case. He added that two suspects have been arrested so far and their samples have been sent for the DNA test.
