Alleged kidnapping of foreign woman at Lahore Airport found baseless, police investigation reveals

A new twist has emerged in the investigation into the alleged kidnapping of a foreign woman from Lahore Airport, with police stating that initial findings suggest the woman left the airport voluntarily and that no evidence of abduction has been found, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.

According to police investigators, the foreign national, identified as Sofia, willingly accompanied a Pakistani citizen named Noman after arriving in the country. Officials said the claim of kidnapping appears to be baseless based on the evidence collected so far.

Police sources revealed that Sofia had previously visited Pakistan in March this year. During that visit, she reportedly befriended a young man named Ahmed and later travelled with him to Hunza on a tourist trip.

Investigators said that during her stay in Hunza, Sofia also became acquainted with another young man, Noman. According to the inquiry, Sofia had already planned to visit Hunza with Noman before her latest arrival in Pakistan.

Police further stated that available evidence indicates Sofia left Lahore Airport with Noman of her own free will, and no signs of coercion or kidnapping have been discovered during the investigation.

Another significant development in the case concerns the individual who initially claimed to be Sofia’s husband. Police said the man is a Nepalese national and is not Sofia’s legal husband. Investigators revealed that Sofia had met the Nepalese citizen while living in Switzerland.

According to the police, the Nepalese complainant arrived in Pakistan separately, while Sofia arrived from Switzerland. Authorities are continuing to examine all aspects of the case to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the allegations.

The case, which was registered at Sarwar Road Police Station, remains under investigation, and police say further inquiries are underway before any final conclusions are reached.
