Vehemently condemning a slander campaign being run nowadays on social media against the chief justice of Islamabad High Court, the president of SCBA has called upon the FIA cyber team to take action against the perpetrators, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

President Supreme Court Bar Association Ahsan Bhoon said on Wednesday that nobody should live in a fool’s paradise that lawyers would allow him to sabotage the esteem of the judiciary. He called upon the FIA cybercrime circle chief to take notice of a campaign against Chief Justice Athar Minalla on social media. 

Mr Bhoon said that the SCBA fully endorsed Chief Justice Minallah’s observation on the PECA Ordinance. He said it was a draconian law aimed at gaging the voice of political opponents and it was against the freedom of expression. 

He was of the view that the campaign against the CJ on social media was being orchestrated with the connivance of government machinery.
