Arif Wazir, a local politician who contested the election for the provincial assembly seat, was injured critically in a gun attack in the Wana area in South Waziristan on Friday.

According to sources, Arif was shifted to the hospital in a critical condition. Quoting doctors, MNA Ali Wazir said that Arif was in a coma and he was being shifted from Wana to a hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. Sources said that Arif was on way home from a local market when some men in a car opened fire at him.
