United Nations (UN) disclosed in its World Social Report 2023 that 22 million young people are waiting to get married in Pakistan.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, a census report on Pakistan by the United Nations Department of Economics and Social Affairs revealed that every family across the country is looking for a good matrimonial relationship as 22 million young men and women in Pakistan are eagerly waiting to tie the knot.

According to the report, normally in Pakistan, most parents tried first to marry their children to cousins and in the absence of them accept matrimonial relations from outside of their own caste too which is generally a hard task.

On the other hand, the UN report said some dating apps in Pakistan are helping parents a lot to solve this problem of good matrimonial relations and millions of young people have tied the knot so far.

Apart from these apps in Pakistan, marriage centres are also playing an important role in arranging the matrimonial relations of young people, the UN report said.
