Three dacoits killed in CCD operation in Hafizabad

A Crime Control Department (CCD) of Punjab team on Friday gunned down three notorious dacoits during an encounter in Hafizabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources said that the police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Kassoke Police Station Hafizabad.

All the dead dacoits were involved in over a dozen criminal cases including dacoity, snatching, murder, attempted murder and other cases. 

All the three dead dacoits were identified as Zaigham, Jahangir and Maratib.

Police team shifted the dead bodies of all dacoits to mortuary of a local hospital for completion of legal proceedings.

Further investigation was underway

Earlier, in March 2025, a master-mined of inter-provincial dacoit gang was killed when his accomplices started indiscriminate firing on a police party in Hafizabad.

Police said that they were taking the arrested accused who was later identified as Tehseen Gondal for recovery when suddenly his colleagues opened firing on the police party during which Tehseen Gondal was died on the spot.

Police sources further revealed that the dead accused was involved in different cases of robbery, murder and snatching.
