Adiala jail admin rejects request of Bushra Bibi's daughter for meeting

The daughter of Bushra Bibi has tried to submit a written application to the jail superintendent seeking permission to meet her mother, but jail officials refused to accept it, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

According to her lawyer, Chaudhry Awais Younas, he visited Adiala Jail on instructions from PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja to submit a formal representation regarding the meeting request.

He said the jail administration’s refusal to receive the application was illegal and a clear violation of prison rules and human rights.

The lawyer added that they are fulfilling all legal requirements for a meeting with Bushra Bibi, but the jail authorities are still creating obstacles.

He said the superintendent of the jail should accept the application and process it according to the law.

Owais Younas further stated that the application has also been sent to the jail superintendent through the post to ensure there is no legal ambiguity.

He added that further legal action is also being considered.
