Interior minister thanks organizers for putting off congregation during US-Iran talks
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday visited Jamia Abu al Qasim Tableeghi Markaz in Islamabad and met with the organizers of the three-day congregation presently underway in the city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was welcomed by Yousaf Qureshi, Abdur Rehman Qureshi and Naib In-charge Shura Dr Salim on arrival.
The minister, on the occasion, thanked the organizers for postponing the congregation in view of the US-Iran talks held in Islamabad. “I thank the organizers for their positive gesture,” he said, and appreciated the role being played by participants of the congregation to promote inter-faith harmony and national unity.
He, on the occasion, informed the hosts of the arrangements made for the security of the event. “Arrangements have been made to provide foolproof security to participants of the congregation,” Naqvi added.
On the occasion, special prayers were offered for the country’s prosperity and progress.
As many as 250,000 faithful are expected to attend the event, which will come to an end on Sunday morning after special prayers.
IGP Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner, DIG Operations, Additional Deputy Commissioner General and other officers were also present on the occasion.
